Uniting Humanity around the 17 Global Goals through Arts, Culture & Action.
We catalyze global collaboration across all 17 U.N. Sustainable Development Goals — centering the power of the arts to champion the restoration of our living planet.
Who We Are
Amplifying Change
Collectively, Worldwide.
The Project 17 Foundation is the nonprofit arm of United Nations artist-ambassador AY Young’s Battery Tour.
Our mission is to empower frontline and fenceline communities by supporting initiatives grounded in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and amplifying the voices of artists and activists who are driving systemic change.
We bring together youth, elders, scientists, artists, and communities to create real-world solutions — rooted in love for life and guided by planetary consciousness.

Our Mission
Restoring Earth.
Rekindling Humanity.
We believe solving the ambitious 17 United Nations SDGs begins with becoming a “changemaker” and applying our unique skills, ingenuity and creativity to our unique sphere of influence.
Our mission is to empower collective action that integrates:
- Environmental regeneration
- Conscious education & youth leadership
- Cultural healing through art, story, and play
- Collaborative systems change across sectors
Our Programs
1. Education Programming

“Outlets for Change” is a project-based learning journey that transforms classrooms into creative studios for changemaking. Students explore how personal growth (the Inner Development Goals) and global action (the UN SDGs) connect — discovering that change begins within, and radiates outward.
Each lesson uses music, storytelling, performance, and technology to guide students through five creative action steps. The program supports schools to meet global citizenship and social-emotional learning standards while inspiring real-world community impact.
2. Project 17 Green Fund

A living network for innovation, investment and co-creation aligned with the 17 SDGs.
At the heart of our work is the Green Fund, which channels $5–25 from every Battery Tour concert ticket directly into vetted nonprofits advancing solutions to climate, justice, and community resilience. Each recipient develops a clear plan for impact, with outcomes tracked and shared transparently.
What makes Project 17 distinctive is our Concert–Conference–Impact model. Each performance is paired with a companion convening where local leaders, organizations, and audiences come together to spotlight SDG solutions and build lasting networks. This model transforms culture into infrastructure: music powers the movement, gatherings foster collaboration, and pooled resources flow directly into community-led action. More than a concert series, Project 17 is a cultural engine and funding platform. It is designed to disrupt extractive systems, uplift grassroots leadership, and accelerate solutions for people and the planet. By uniting art, culture, and direct investment, Project 17 makes sustainability a movement everyone can join.
